I am sure with most fetishes someone a long time ago just made up a list of crap and threw it out there. Then slowly people read them and lo & behold the fetish materialized as people began to wonder about it.

I duno if I make sense. Like for example, eating someone might be bad for me but not for others. But also, it might be good for me but bad to society. And no I didn't mean psychology as a person, I meant the "idea" or psychology. (I cannot express my self very easy in a foreign language, sorry…)

Well ya know? Once in a psychology class, a teacher told us, fetish can be anything, even what we find attractive can be a fetish, like, a blonde woman, a muscular man, huge boobs, etc. So ya see, it is not easy to say I dislike fetishes. What u can say is that u dislike extreme things. But overall as long as someone is not doing anything to harm others or him/her self, then it is aprooved by psychology. But again each person judges differently.

True. We can fetishize just about anything. In fact, my statement starting this topic "why I chose to avoid fetish" is actually not a true statement by me. It's the philias that can sometimes disturb me, but I wouldn't want to say I dislike extremes. Vorarephilia, being eaten or eating, doesn't seem extreme (if we leave out cannibalism as a part of the fetish) it's just that I find it odd & perhaps unsettling. I used to say I don't have a kink but I am into yours until I found out <s>the utter depravity</s> just how bizarre the human psyche can be.

I like breath control & to a certain degree enforced breath control. I don't consider it a fetish but I suppose it is. I know from experience many people consider this extreme.

I think I was just expressing my surprise at what the void shows me when I look into it.

It's much easier being all out there, showing it all without caring one bit what one might think, expressing all your personality. Finding pleasure in simple things is tough for some to comprehend. Isn't it easier to go out of control and become greedy, to explore your wants and needs, to consume more and more each day, never look back and continue recklessly down that road?

Without rules and discipline people turn to their animal instincts. They can only follow what their body tells them to do. And once the feeling of pleasure takes over your mind and body takes control you are well on a fetish roller coaster. Kissing and caress - who needs that? Show me something you can throw at me :-X

Or could be the fact that the thrill of fetish is the shock factor. If you are desensitised to the shock and thrill, one might be tempted to look for other 'wrong' things to thrill - and these more extreme fetishes are born.
