The main character is the detective from The Exorcist. It isn't until very near the end of the book that you discover how it connects.

Personally, i didn't found it scary.
There might be a few chillers every now and then but that's just about it.

I am scared by movies that have a small connection to reality or movies that can be scientifically ambigueus, like alien abductions.
