<p dir="auto">In the 2-1 decision, they said that courts, judges and lawyers shouldn't be the heroes of the gay civil rights movement, but that individual people should be the heroes.  The also said that the civil rights process needs to follow the traditional path of going through the government, not the courts.</p>
<p dir="auto">Of course they ignored the countless civil rights cases that have been settled throughout US history.</p>

<p dir="auto">Ok that's fine, but that wasn't the intent of your original post.  If you would have said this in the beginning I would have respected that.  However, in your original post, you questioned his decision to "care" about people that didn't belong in the same country as him, which implies that it is abnormal to show compassion towards the plight of others.</p>

I certainly would like whatever everyone is on, when they say there's no gay marriage in the U.S. since it's legal in 35 states and you couldn't pay me to live in the states where it's not, so just move to a state where it's legal.  Besides, I don't know why anyone would want to live anywhere that isn't on the west coast.</p>

<p dir="auto">It's just sad that we are going to see a challenge in any event. It has been so refreshing to watch the Courts of Appeal strike down the cases one by one. But now to see this happen. I guess I always knew that there would be ONE case that would definitely make it to the SCOTUS. I just want marriage equality for all in our country.</p>
