<![CDATA[Can you reseed a dead torrent even when you haven't downloaded it?]]>I know duplicated torrents are not allowed so, hypothetically, if I had one file that is identical to one alredy uploaded in a dead torrent, would I be able to reseed it without the size of the file being added to my ratio?

Stop the torrent ASAP, the downloaded data will count. Then read the reseed guide(s) to understand what went wrong and how to correct that.

The file you've already got needs to match to the byte the file in the torrent's file list then the procedure is the same than reseeding a file downloaded from here.
